Default Monk Football

A friend and I were just chatting and she mentioned an idea she had for a new use for GvG battles. Tbh it's very silly but has some interesting tactical possibilities.

Two teams(guilds) have a 55Hp monk each. The rest of the composition is optional.

You then start an unrated guild battle

The objective is to get your (dead) 55 HP monk to the opposite Guild Lord, by use of rebirth, res etc etc more than your opposing team does within the agreed time limit

As you many know rebirth can be used to teleport a 55Hp Corpse around the place so that would be the primary way of getting your monk to the goal.

Should you get your monk corpse to the opposite teams guild lord you score a goal (monk down??)

Personally I think this would be huge fun and add a new twist on the strategies required.

i think they start dead but the point of it being a 55 monk is that they die as soon as rezed. i think this would be fun to play.

How about a defensive tactic of being able to rez the enemies monk?

Vengeance, for the block!

Then you'd have to kill the guy with the Vengeance...

I have to say this has got to be the most innovative game idea I've heard. I could see the monk though trying his best to figure out a build that could not only survive but run to the goal on his own. but i can see two problems occuring with this game. A ranger using frozen soil, and making it so that the monk could only have 55hp. i'd say just go with a standard courpse of whatever and you have to move them but then that would defeat the purpose of the whole "monk" part of the game. I'd love to see it but figuring out how to work it in might be an issue

Default Ragdoll physics like henchmen

Use like a lifeless henchmen and call it "the monkball" or something

Makes it alot easier, and ROFL this is a great idea, I like the idea of rezzing against each to pull people to you. it seems infinitely hilarious

Example Dialogue:

"He's mine!" <Somewhere distant> "No he's not!" <Monty Python: "And now for something completely different!">

Lol, still a funny idea, impractical, but I'll sign it anyday to put more fun into guild wars

"I call a foul! Someone steped on my head! Couldn't see who it was though....COULD SOMEONE REZ ME FACE UP?!?!"

I like Shimus's idea of a hench monk for the ball. Use Alisa she's pretty much as good as bait anyways

I love the idea, but the only thing is that Rebirth takes 6 seconds. A LONG time for ANYONE to interrupt. Would take years to win if each team has a mesmer.

Monster idea though. How about first monk to the guild lord wins.
You'd see alot more of a regular battle, but with ALOT more enchantment busters. Vengence comes to mind. Among other things....

Other than that, I'm in.
